Halloween Who?

October 28, 2008

Does anyone else feel like Halloween is being slightly forgotten this year? It’s even on a Friday and I’ve heard no amazing plans for it. Maybe that’s just because the last 2 years have been awesome costume parties, but I’m just not feeling this year for some reason. The Captain doesn’t have a costume yet. I have a costume, but I don’t think it breaks away too far from who I am already. Well, whatever happens…toss a pumpkin for me.

It Won’t Be Long Now

Ricky Tuna Barcelona

October 27, 2008

Well, we knew it was too late for him. He’s officially that stereotypical semi-curious American tourist in France/Spain. Leave it to members of the Knox to carry out such wonderful shows for worldly audiences…

Inner Soundtrack Part I

October 24, 2008

So…We all have it. That inner soundtrack. The songs that you love most in life, and not just because they’re awesome, but also because they complete parts of your life that make you feel like you are a part of something. ‘Deloused’ Never Dies

October 17, 2008

A lot of people really don’t like The Mars Volta because, at times, it’s a little too intense for them. I don’t blame them, in context to their more recent work, but Deloused in The Comatorium is the kind of concept album that cannot be shelved. So if you’re an old fan of At The Drive-In, or a solid follower of The Mars Volta, don’t forget to pull this one out and give it a listen every now and then. It really tickles past the boundaries of smart-prog rock and expands limitations to what pop culture decides fit for worthy listening.

This Time Tomorrow

October 13, 2008

This time tomorrow where will we be
On a spaceship somewhere sailing across an empty sea
This time tomorrow what will we know
Well we still be here watching an in-flight movie show
I’ll leave the sun behind me and watch the clouds as they sadly pass me by
Seven miles below ma I can see the world and it ain’t so big at all
This time tomorrow what will we see
Field full of houses, endless rows of crowded streets
I don’t where I’m going, I don’t want to see
I feel the world below me looking up at me
Leave the sun behind me, and watch the clouds as they sadly pass me by
And I’m in perpetual motion and the world below doesn’t matter much to me
This time tomorrow where will we be
On a spaceship somewhere sailing across any empty sea
This time tomorrow, this time tomorrow

My Brain is a Forest

October 8, 2008

My Brain is a forest.

My skull is the sky.

My blood is the pond that surrounds like a moat.

A crackle in the fire.

A cackle in the moonlight.

I’ll twist my fingers around the steel braids of my snare woven heart.

I’ll listen for the sound of trees stretching and falling.

I’ll hear nothing.

Nothing but a faint whisper of the mocking birds above.

I’ll carve my name in trees that stand underneath my eye lids.
