Junebug – Monster Mountain

December 4, 2008

Monster Mountain

Here on the mountaintop, those little girls start spinnin’
And we know they wont ever stop until those grins stop grinnin’
To be loved, to be loved
To be loved all over once again

On the mountain top, the skies a misty blue
And I know that its here that I did fall in love with you
And we’re here, and we’re here
And we’re here all over once again

On the mountaintop I did put out a warnin’
That an evil monster lurking bout, should arrive by mornin’
So we gathered sticks and stones
So we gathered sticks and stones, gathered all over once again

I know
You could never have me, I know
You could never have me, I know
You could never
You could never..

Here on the mountaintop our candles did burn out
As the monster raised his beastly arms while scurrying about
So we ran, yes we ran
So we ran, yes we ran
Ran all over once again

I went right and he ran left, direction is our plight
But no matter where we ended up, our bodies he must fight.
And we fought, yes we fought
And we fought, yes we fought
Fought all over once again

Fight music

I know
You could never have me, I know
You could never have me, I know
You could never
You could never..

The body of that creature lay underneath the moon
And we knew the earth would open up to swallow him up soon
And the ground, shook our feet
And the ground shook our feet
Shook all over once again

On the mountaintop, today’s a different day
With our burdens lifted off our backs we walk without dismay
So we ran, yes we ran
And we sang, yes we sang
Sang all over once again

I know
You could never have me, I know
You could never have me, I know
You could never
You could never..

I love Christminanas time. Winter is approaching, although I can’t truly feel it down here like how I feel it up there.

Dear North, I’m going to jump in you when I see you again.

What are you wishing for?

Happiness? Health? Materials? Love? Peace? Invisible?

Going Home for The Holidays.

Hi.

I tried.

December 4, 2008

I tried to give you more.

I tried to show you images.

Images of people we’ve never met.

People that play passenger to their lives inside celluloid strips of history, love, virtue, and all that children turn to when Summer dies on Autumn’s doorstep.

Alas, they wouldn’t let me. They wouldn’t let me dash across their indexes. They wouldn’t let me cut out strips from their scrap books for my own.

Color me black and white. Dear lord. My, my.

Flickr is unresponsive to my requests to give you more…

…soon enough, for our unknown relentless eyes.

Herringbone

December 1, 2008

I created a mission for myself while I relaxed at home in Los Gatos for Thanksgiving. The mission was to teach myself the piano notes to Department of Eagles’ “Herringbone”.

After 1 hour, I had it set and ready. I wish I could write like Daniel Rossen does. Playing that song, and singing it later on record was a treat, and it just felt completely together. I commend this song… Maybe I’ll upload it here. Maybe not. Just listen to the original, it’s not too different, other than being a lot better than my attempt.

“Oh boy. When you’re gone, you are gone…”

“One after the other, after the other… Just like herringbone.”

808s & Heartbreak

November 24, 2008

I’m not the biggest follower of hip hop anymore, but I granted myself one of my true guilty pleasures this morning: listen to the newest Kanye release. A few years ago, I was still purchasing and listening to his music on the regular. These days, well, you know what I listen to. It’s not hip hop. BUT, this album (despite his overdone use of vocoder) is really well produced and it’s a nice bridge between hip hop and mid-skool 808 beats.
I’ll put it on my guilty pleasure playlist (if I ever feel man enough to release such a disaster).

Things Behind The Sun

November 20, 2008

Please beware of them that stare
They’ll only smile to see you while
Your time away
And once you’ve seen what they have been
To win the earth just won’t seem worth
Your night or your day
Who’ll hear what I say.
Look around you find the ground
Is not so far from where you are
Don´t too wise
For down below they never grow
They’re always tired and charms are hired
From out of their eyes
Never surprise.

Take your time and you’ll be fine
And say a prayer for people there
Who live on the floor
And if you see what’s meant to be
Don’t name the day or try to say
It happened before.

Don’t be shy you learn to fly
And see the sun when day is done
If only you see
Just what you are beneath a star
That came to stay one rainy day
In autumn for free
Yes, be what you’ll be.
Please beware of them that stare
They’ll only smile to see you while
Your time away
And once you’ve seen what they have been
To win the earth just won’t seem worth
Your night or your day
Who’ll hear what I say.

Open up the broken cup
Let goodly sin and sunshine in
Yes that’s today.
And open wide the hymns you hide
You find reknown while people frown
At things that you say
But say what you’ll say
About the farmers and the fun
And the things behind the sun
And the people round your head
Who say everything’s been said
And the movement in your brain
Sends you out into the rain.
