The coloring is splendid.
Big up to Volkan Ergen for making such a pretty video.
New Band Report – Here We Go Magic

There was a Myspace bulletin earlier in the week posted by Grizzly Bear’s Ed Droste recommending a new band that he’s obsessed with lately. After hearing the 3 songs they have out and about, I too have become somewhat infatuated with Here We Go Magic. Formed by Brooklyn’s genre-bending singer/songwriter, Luke Temple, Here We Go Magic does something special with their lo-fi-new-prog-alt-freak-folk sound that Brooklyn is well known for harboring.
Playing alongside Peter Hale (drums) and Baptiste Ibar (bass) for live performances, Temple’s voice, guitar, and original use of distortions are that of a nuance close to a timeless journey through many decades in my ears. Their tempo and timber give ode to the finest of montage rock songs that fit between the ages of psychodelia, early seventies ballads, and post-punk indie rock, but without the drama or glam.
If you dig Grizzly Bear, Department of Eagles, Dirty Projectors, or any other expressive new bands that challenge all genres, then I believe you’ll be looking for this album when it drops February 24th.
Check out some of their songs and all the other 411:
Memory is Strange in a Parallel Universe

This photo, besides being beautiful and well done, is striking me as something familiar. A memory of someone from years ago. Maybe it is the way she is standing, or the way her bone structure is well drawn with passion and strength through her wrists and fingers. Her hair is somewhat familiar too. Although, not as thick. I wonder what this one is thinking about. Is she content? Is she connected to concerns? All and all, this one reminded me of another whom I recently saw for the first time in years. Memory is a wonderful creature…
There’s a Place In Between All of This

Where the wind dies down and the light increases. Just for a moment, we are given the ability to remember that all things are loosely connected like baby’s breath caught in an old garden spider’s web. I’m feeling much more connected to such things these days. There’s a place in between all of this where the sights are much more divine than what our tongues can twist into words. May the new year bring more connection to greater things. The little things… yeah?
Fill My Jar, Pilot

Howdy

I feel like I’ve neglected you a little.
I was on vacation.
Walking the long haul… Pensive, collective, and well rested.
Let’s continue, shall we?
Home For The Holidaze

May peace be invisible for all.
Ivory Smiler

I was in a stranger’s house and couldn’t resist taking a picture of a piano that’s just smiling at me. I played him later. He kept on smilin’.
